Principal Consultant – Data Governance &  Capital Markets

About the Job:

As a Principal Consultant Data Governance Project Manager on the Capital Markets Team, you will work in a fast-paced team setting, alongside industry experts. You will become an expert in cross-functional, end-to-end delivery that spans multiple products. In this role, you will share responsibility for the oversight and integrity of the data used for senior management, regulatory or client reporting, and internal controls. Using a risk-based methodology, you will review and assess prioritized data initiatives, review key front office processes and the associated control framework, identify any control gaps, and work on defining remediation plans.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  •  Assess prioritization of various data initiatives
  • Develop SME knowledge around key data governance processes and controls
  • Conduct control coverage assessment, identify any control gaps, and develop remediation plans
  • Provide guidance & supervision to other team members regarding the execution of data projects
  • Track progress of the initiatives against timelines, provide status report to Senior Management and highlight risks and dependencies to meeting planned deadlines.

What you’ll bring with You:

  • Strong risk and control mindset, with the ability to communicate the importance and effectiveness of internal controls, within the Capital Markets domain
    Knowledge of financial products / asset classes / risk measures
  • Knowledge of the trade lifecycle & F2B data lineage/data flow experience
  • Project Management – ability to scope, plan, and execute projects
  • Ability to build & maintain credible relationships
  • Experience in a similar Data Management role with focus on data definitions, Data authorities, data quality rules & dashboard, data quality controls preferred
  • Background in an independent control function preferred
  • Experience in successfully delivering business and technology projects with an understanding of product development lifecycle
  • Development productivity tools (JIRA, TFS, or other)
    Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise and influence a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree
