We hear you’re looking for your next stop on the Cloud Architect Journey? We have a destination for you. We’re looking for the right person to join the team as a Cloud Architect SME for our client in Washington, DC.

If it sounds important, it is! Our next Cloud Architect SME will define, create, and maintain fully functional cloud architectures. They will advise on the adoption of a cloud environment and support its institutionalization across the organization. They will be involved in migration, modernization, networking, security, compliance and accreditation, and O&M of the cloud environment.

What we’ll expect of you:

Architecting state of the art, automated, fault-tolerant, and scalable AWS environments adhering to AWS best practices in standard and GovCloud regions
Migrating infrastructure and system/application workloads to AWS Cloud including – Rehosting (Lift and Shift), Replatforming, Repurchasing, Refactoring/Re-architecting, Retiring, and Retaining
Experience institutionalizing DevOps methodology and creation, maintenance, and employment of automated CICD pipelines. Be a trusted advisor for DevOps initiatives by providing objective and relent ideas, insights, and guidance
Experience with cloud security, compliance, and accreditation. Work with Security team to ensure solutions comply with FISMA/FedRAMP controls and Federal security policies. Advise and achieve ATO accreditation
Experience with cloud cost estimation, management, and optimization

What we figure you’ll have in your background (Required):

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in related discipline AND
Minimum Experience: 3 years with specialization in cloud technologies OR
Substitution/Alternative to Minimum Education and Experience: Must have at least 12 years of on-the-job experience
Be able to work remotely but, be able to go on-site as requested and/or occasionally with potentially some form of post-pandemic cadence, on-site in Washington DC
Deep understanding of IaaS and PaaS cloud services and experience employing them to design solutions to complex problems
Cloud Architecture Design, Networking and Security, DevOps and CICD Pipelines, Migration
Cloud Environment Modernization and Cost Optimization
Incident Management and Escalation Support. Investigate reported and suspected outage issues, documenting issue, resolution, maintaining knowledge base of known issues
Automation experience including CloudFormation and/or Terraform to ensure repeatable, sustainable AWS infrastructure is effectively managed
Experience with Linux environments and Git and branching
Experience advising and collaborating with varied stakeholders including – customers, technical teams, end users, vendors, AWS to develop sound automation solutions
Plan, organize, and execute multiple responsibilities to achieve project goals and provide technical leadership to move projects to completion
Ensure deliverables are completed on time and of high-quality
Acts as a subject-matter expert to multiple tasks and/or programs. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
Must be able to see opportunities for improvement, take ownership, and closely work with varied team to drive improvement
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient at prioritization, multi-tasking, and proactive in work responsibilities
Superior attention to detail, process creation, improvement, and institutionalization
Passion for providing great customer service


Active Clearance or Public Trust (DOJ Preferred)
AWS Associate, Professional, and/or Specialty Certifications including but not limited to – Solutions Architect, DevOps, Security
Container Orchestration and Management (Kubernetes, ECS, Docker)
Experience in Application Rehosting, Refactoring, and Legacy Modernization
Experience in 3rd Party Tool Integration
Knowledge and experience with databases and AWS database services
