So you have aced the interview. Great! Now it’s time to follow up with your interviewer. Following up after an interview can make you stand out from the competition. You can do this by sending a thank-you note. Make sure to thank your interviewer for their time and reiterate why you are the best candidate for the position. Think about some points you made during the interview that you want to emphasize.
Your thank-you note can be used in another great way. After leaving an interview, many people wish they had answered certain questions differently. If there was a question asked that you do not feel you answered well, you can readdress it in your note. This is also an opportunity to ask any questions you forgot to ask during the interview.
Lastly, be sure to send your note promptly – ideally it should be sent within 24 hours of your interview. If your interview was on a Friday, be sure to send it before the end of the weekend. If the interviewer does not respond to your note, do not take it personally or as a clue that you are not still being considered. It is very common in the industry.
